Fiscal Planning

We must stay focused on the fiscal stability of the District as we head into uncertain economic times at both the state and federal levels.  While the district benefited from an increase in both state and federal funds over the past three years all indicators point to a realignment in funding priorities. For the coming school year Clarence will receive no increase in state aid which will shift a greater burden to local taxpayers.  We have worked hard since my first year on the board to rebuild our fund balances and stay focused on long-range planning.  If we remain focused, we can ensure we are well positioned to weather any storm and to keep any tax increases within the Tax Cap.

Educational Excellence

We must continue to strive as a district and community to build on the strong foundation we have in place and ensure that the Clarence Schools remain the premier school system in Western NY.  I have strived over the last 12 years to restore positions and enhance educational offerings after the 2013 budget defeat.  While we are in a much-improved place, there remains more work to be done to ensure we continue to enhance the opportunities afforded all our students.

District Stability

I had the distinct honor to be the President of the Board of Education when we successfully conducted our Superintendent search three years ago.  As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, I look forward to collaborating with and supporting Dr. Frahm as we continue to shape the positive school culture that exists in our district.
